Where Would You Like the Bullet?

This one-off special tells the story of the remarkable life and works of Celbridge-born writer Aidan Higgins. Educated at Clongowes Wood, Higgins’ first and best-known novel, entitled Langrishe, Go Down (1966), is about three Big House Catholic sisters in 1930s Kildare. Higgins lived in numerous countries and produced a stream of novels with international themes such as Balcony of Europe and Bornholm Night Ferry as well as three autobiographies. Higgins died aged 88 in Kinsale, Co Cork in 2015. EK
