Media organisations and book publishers must take responsibility for the healthcare claims they promote, according to the head of research at the Irish Cancer Society.
Dr Robert O’Connor was among the medical experts who supported a successful complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland (ASAI) concerning claims about the ketogenic diet and cancer. He said it was worrying to see the promotion of non evidence-based health claims.
