Donal Breen is chief executive of Wellman International, Europe’s largest polyester staple manufacturer. Headquartered in Mullagh, Co Meath, Wellman employs 410 people and has manufacturing assets in Ireland, France and the Netherlands. The company converts post-consumer waste, mainly polyester bottles, into premium-grade fibre, and has an annual turnover of €140 million. It is owned by Thailand’s Indorama Ventures.
