Walsh’s Vueling takes on Ryanair in price war

IAG owned carrier is pumping money into promoting Barcelona flights

Spanish budget airline Vueling has launched an all-out assault on Ryanair’s Dublin to Barcelona route.

The airline, which like Aer Lingus is owned by Willie Walsh’s IAG, is pumping money into a major marketing campaign to promote its flights to Barcelona.

Vueling quietly began flying on the route a year ago with little fuss or marketing at a time when IAG’s bid for Aer Lingus still hung in the balance....
