Virgin and Sky won’t play ball on BT Sport Irish rights

A source told The Sunday Business Post that Sky and Virgin were unlikely to come to an agreement for the latter to carry the channels following a change of distributor at the start of next month

Rivals challenging Sky in Germany

Virgin Media will not carry the BT Sport channels when Sky takes control of its Irish distribution on August 1, The Sunday Business Post understands.

Virgin Media, Sky, BT Ireland and outgoing distributor Eir all declined to comment on the situation.

However, a source told this paper that Sky and Virgin were unlikely to come to an agreement for the latter to carry the channels following the change of distributor at the start of next month.
