US healthcare giant could boost nursing home sector

UPMC is understood to be considering teaming up with the state’s sovereign development fund

A $14 billion American healthcare giant has held talks with the Irish Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) about moving into the senior living sector in Ireland.

UPMC, a nonprofit healthcare group with existing interests in Ireland, is understood to be considering teaming up with the state’s sovereign development fund to build a network of high quality nursing homes and eldercare villages nationwide.
