US filesharing giant Box plans to store data in Irish ‘farms’
Company will store information at Dublin's Amazon data centre
US file-sharing giant Box is to store customer data in giant Irish ‘data farms’ as part of its response to consumer concerns about privacy and security.
The company, which hosts over 57,000 businesses, will store information at the Amazon data centre in Dublin.
“Some companies have restrictions on which country or region they can store their data,” said Rand Wacker, vice president for enterprise product at Box.
