Ulster Bank name Gerry Mallon for top job

Danske chief executive returns to former employer

Gerry Mallon has been appointed as chief executive of Ulster Bank in the Republic of Ireland.

He is stepping down as head of Danske Bank in the North and will take up the job in June 2016.

Mr Mallon has previously worked at Ulster Bank, leaving in 2008 to join Danske.
