Canadian company Irving Oil has agreed to buy the Tedcastle group of fuel companies, better known as Top Oil.

Headquartered in Dublin, Top Oil supplies home heating oil as well as petrol and diesel fuel. It recently expanded operations into company-owned retail forecourts and aviation fuel.

The Canadian company says it will retain the Top Oil branding and the existing workforce. The deal is subject to approval by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
