Just who is Thomas Roeggla, the man whose fund is quietly buying up €80 million-worth of Irish hotels and property assets?

The monied Austrian first encountered Ireland as a very successful early investor in Irish bonds, I’m told. As well as hotels, he likes technology and shopping centre investments. His Strategic Capital Investment has also acquired the Quayside Shopping Centre in Sligo.
