Marlet, the property group formerly known as New Generation, has received planning permission for a home-build development in Mount Merrion after a lengthy battle.

Despite local objections, the Pat Crean-directed company has been given the green light on appeal for a scheme with an estimated retail value of around €25 million.

Backed by £250 billion asset-owning British fund M&G, Marlet’s Balark Investments vehicle now has the permission it needs to build 63 houses and apartments...
