The GAA’s awkward dance with the media goes on

GAA players need to be given greater empowerment in their dealings with the media.

‘I’m just here so I don’t get fined.” That was the consistent and now infamous refrain from Seattle Seahawks star Marshawn Lynch on the media day in advance of the 2015 Super Bowl. Lynch had previously been fined $100,000 for not complying with the NFL’s media policy. He wasn’t about to be out of pocket again. But he wasn’t exactly going to be engaging either.
