TG4 wins Christmas rugby crunch clash with Sky Sports

Irish language station was victorious in battle for audience share

Irish language broadcaster TG4 beat pay-per-view Sky Sports in a head-to-head battle for viewers over the clash of rugby giants Leinster and Munster this Christmas.

The two channels were showing the Pro 12 game between the Irish provinces in Thomond on December 27 in the traditional post-Christmas fixture, and figures show that viewers overwhelmingly opted for the terrestrial channel.
