Ten buyers circling Aviva Healthcare

According to potential bidders, Aviva expects the sale to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2016

Macquarie, the Australian investment bank, has received about ten expressions of interest in buying the Irish health insurance division of Aviva, the London Stock Exchange listed insurance company.

Aviva’s Irish health arm has about 300,000 customers and is a joint venture with AIB, which owns 30 per cent of the division.
