Carlow company Delmec Engineering is eyeing expansion overseas, having identified up to 250 potential new customers in the Middle East.

Established in 1999 as an offshoot of the family-owned steel manufacturing business D+P Delaney, Delmec builds and maintains infrastructure, including towers, masts and monopoles for clients in the telco sector.

“We are in a niche business. There are very few people in it,” said Kealan Delaney, chief executive at Delmec.
