Tax hike for Zomato as it ditches Irish office plan

Zomato, the restaurant review site valued at $1 billion, has rowed back on plans to base its international headquarters in Ireland.

The Indian company, which was founded in 2008, aggregates restaurant information and user-generated reviews.

A spokesperson for Zomato said that its Irish entity “was supposed to be the HQ for our international operations, however, since we are currently re-evaluating our international expansion plan, it is only a holding company”.
