Biologist Emer Cooney established Hydrasure in Co Wicklow to bring to market a new monitoring device for the equine sector.

“I had worked as a horse-riding instructor and, with my biology background and my experience in the industry, I identified a problem whereby horse owners were having to use buckets to identify how much water their horses were drinking,” she said.
