U2 bassist Adam Clayton’s €10 million court claim against his former accountant over investment losses illustrates how important it is to know what you are signing up to.

The musician alleges that he entered into high-risk investments, including property deals, on advice from Gaby Smyth even though he didn’t want to.

Smyth denies negligence or that he was Clayton’s financial adviser.
