Cork entrepreneur Ellie Donovan describes her Ballyvolane-based venture Green Space as an “urban agriculture start-up”.

Donovan established the company in 2015 to grow fresh herbs and vegetables without soil using hydroponic methods. She has 16 years experience working in the food and horticultural sectors.

Instead of soil, hydroponic growers use mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent.
