Alix Mulholland, founder of Field Day: ‘Running your own business is a long game’

It was while studying business in Scotland that Co Down native Alix Mulholland came up with the idea for her home fragrance company Field Day.

Trading initially as Bog Standard, the Newtownards company launched in 2002 selling scented soaps, candles and skincare products inspired by the Irish countryside. Sixteen years on, Mulholland has 250 stockists across the island, including Kilkenny Shop, Meadows and Byrne and Blarney Woollen Mills.
