21st Century Fox, the company controlled by Rupert Murdoch, has reached a deal to take over broadcaster Sky, and will pay £11.7 billion for the 61 per cent stake in Sky it does not already own.

“The enhanced capabilities of the combined company will be underpinned by a more geographically diverse and stable revenue base. It will also create an improved balance between subscription, affiliate fee, advertising and content revenues.”
