The Spanish energy company Ebioss has taken control of the publicly-traded Irish biomass firm React Energy.

Ebioss boosted its shareholding to 51 per cent by converting a £500,000 (€585,000) loan it had given React into 10,000,000 new ordinary shares.

The takeover and restructuring has also seen React renamed as Eqtec, now effectively becoming the British subsidiary of Ebioss.
