Sony unveils drone plans

Sony has said it plans to offer commercial drone services for the construction, logistics and agriculture industries from next year. The company’s Aerosense joint venture with robotics firm ZMP makes automated drones which can capture high-definition images and transmit them to the cloud.

“It’s difficult to expect growth in the smartphone business with smartphones alone, which is why we are looking at new opportunities such as this.”
