Smooth sailing as Clare firm lands €12.5m port contract
Acivil engineering firm in Clare has secured the contract to expand the east jetty at the Port of Foynes in Co Limerick as part of a €12.5 million investment project announced this month by Shannon Foynes Port Company (SFPC).
Kilrush-based LMN Keating will have responsibility for the first phase of a larger €50 million capital investment programme at Foynes, infilling 3.45 acres on the port’s east jetty.
Work begins this month on the addition of an open quay storage area on the east jetty, which will allow 40,000-tonne vessels to berth directly alongside the quay.
