SMEs owed average of €23,000

One in seven being forced to close as a result payment issues

Irish SMEs are owed an average of €23,000 each, and many small businesses are coming under pressure as a result of late payments, according to a new survey.

The survey by the Interface Financial Group, which provides short-term working capital to businesses via invoice discounting, found that one in seven Irish businesses are being forced to close as a result of late payments or non-payments.
