Shopify - an online commerce platform dubbed the new Amazon - has put €354.1 million into its Irish subsidiary, company filings show.
The Irish arm’s turnover rose in 2017 to $13.7 million compared with $6.2 million the year before. Its costs rose in the same period - from $5.9 million to $11.7 million - so the company registered a loss for the year of $7.2 million compared with a profit of $166,364 the year before.
