The Irish seafood sector is getting a makeover, with plans to tap into a growing global appetite for healthier food and hassle-free meals.
According to tender documents recently published, the state’s seafood development agency, Bord Iascaigh Mhara, intends to hire consultants to develop a strategic innovation plan for the Irish seafood sector to run from 2016 until 2019.
“Globally, consumers are ageing, with increasing health awareness of the benefits of seafood consumption,” the documents noted....
