Ryanair is to close its Norwegian base

Ryanair has confirmed that it will close its Rygge base in Oslo later this year, following the Norwegian government’s decision to introduce a new passenger tax.

“This tax will severely damage Norwegian tourism, particularly around regional airports. The Norwegian government has instantly made Norway uncompetitive and less attractive to airlines and tourists.”

David O’Brien, chief commercial officer, Ryanair
