RTÉ could be left in limbo without a director general for several months this year.

The state broadcaster’s outgoing director general Noel Curran is expected to leave as soon as possible. Meanwhile, sources at RTÉ say that its new director general, Dee Forbes, might be required to work out a long notice period at her current job, given the seniority of her role.
