RTÉ’s first female director general steps into role next month

Dee Forbes was unable to take up the position due to her previous role

RTÉ has been without a boss for over a month now, but sources at the state broadcaster have confirmed that its new director general, Dee Forbes, will take up the position on Monday, July 11.

While Forbes’s appointment was announced in April, she was unable to take up the position immediately due to commitments to her previous role. Her predecessor, Noel Curran, left the state broadcaster in May.
