The head of comedy at RTE has a budget of zero.

When Eddie Doyle wants to commission a show, he has to go to RTÉ ’s channel controllers, Adrian Lynch and Bill Malone, and convince them to give him the funds for it. This, along with the BAI’s Sound and Vision fund and Section 481 tax incentive, keeps the laughs churning on the state broadcaster.
