Announced last year, the Employment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill will come into force in employment law on March 1.
The bill follows public and political calls for protection for people employed on zero-hour contracts. As well as providing new statutory protections and rights, it bans the use of this kind of contract other than in exceptional circumstances outlined in the bill.
