Private equity funds circling Nama's Ruby and Emerald portfolios

Cerberus, CarVal and Lone Star are believed to be among the interested bidders

Nama is selling two loan portfolios with a combined par value of 4.7 billion

Lone Star Funds is also believed to be interested in the loans held by agency, Bloomberg News reported, citing sources who asked not to be identified because the process is ongoing. The portfolios, known as Project Ruby and Emerald, will probably be sold at a discount to their original value by the agency, Bloomberg said.

First-round bids are due on April 20. Cerberus and CarVal declined to comment while Lone Star and Nama also declined...
