Pre-tax profits on the up at fruit giant Fyffes

Bananas saw strong pricing growth

Fruit giant Fyffes reported a jump in pre-tax profits to €39.5 million last week, and announced a 15 per cent rise in its interim dividend.

“The pineapples category continues to exhibit profitability growth as yields and on-farm efficiencies continue to improve. In addition, the category, like bananas, saw strong pricing growth thanks to supply constraints arising from difficult weather conditions in key growing areas.”
