Pointy shopping app looks stateside for expansion

Dublin-based start-up Pointy is expanding in San Francisco and New York.

The start-up, which is backed by rugby star Jamie Heaslip, set up its operations in San Francisco last month and has been operating in New York for the past six weeks.

Pointy has developed an app to show users what their local shop has in stock and has signed up 45 shops between San Francisco and New York to date.
