Ten years ago, the Irish banking sector was flying sky-high. Developers were at their peak. With one phone call, they were able to summon up their bankers and secure loans of hundreds of millions to take part in frenetic bidding wars for site after site. The Celtic Tiger was in full flow. House prices hit an all-time high. So too did bank profits. We know what happened next.
