The Japanese car giant Nissan was considering moving its manufacturing base from Britain to Cork over Brexit fears, The Sunday Business Post has learned.

The threat of a move heaped pressure on the British government to offer Nissan a secret deal to attract new investment from the company, or risk the beginning of an exodus of manufacturing firms from the country in the wake of Brexit.
