New Zealand Treasury head announced as new Central Bank Governor
Gabriel Makhlouf will replace current head Philip Lane who is moving to the European Central Bank
The Minister for Finance has announced that Gabriel Makhlouf, head of the New Zealand Treasury, has been named as the Central Bank’s new Governor.
Makhlouf will take up the role in September. The 52-year-old is also the New Zealand government’s chief economic and financial adviser.
