Under sourcing agreements with coffee farmers in developing countries, Bewley’s has announced that all of its branded fresh coffee sales this year will be 100 per cent Fairtrade.

The coffee company introduced Ireland’s first Fairtrade product in 1996 and has relationships with Fairtrade coffee cooperatives such as Nicaragua’s Soppexcca, a community of 690 coffee growers in Jinotega.

Soppexcca supplies all of the Bewley’s Nicaraguan coffee under an agreement dating back ten years....
