David Cronin, new chief executive of the Ireland Funds

The new chief executive of the Ireland Funds has confirmed his first board appointments as the philanthropic organisation restructures following an embezzlement scandal.

David Cronin, who was previously head of the University of Limerick Foundation, took up his position at the Ireland Funds America in June.

His predecessor, Kieran McLoughlin, stood down after over $500,000 was allegedly misappropriated by an employee of the fund’s Dallas office, which sparked an internal audit of the wider governance...
