New image ready for take-off at Aer Lingus

The airline’s bosses are hoping that its first TV brand campaign in 20 years will remind viewers of its glory days, writes Colette Sexton

‘Giving Aer Lingus back its fame” is the aim of the new brand positioning of the airline, according to its chief revenue officer, Mike Rutter.

Anyone who picked up a newspaper last week would think that Aer Lingus was famous enough without a new campaign, as IAG’s bid to buy the airline hit the headlines. However, Rutter said that while the airline is “iconic” in Ireland, that has not translated into other markets...
