NBCUniversal’s latest $200m investment in Buzzfeed shows the belief in new media
The giant has doubled down on the social news and entertainment company
NBCUniversal is doubling down on Buzzfeed. The film studio and television network, now a subsidiary of cable company Comcast, has just invested $200 million in the digital publisher. That brings its total investment in Buzzfeed to $400 million.
It’s just over a year since NBCUniversal announced it was taking a stake in the company and it simultaneously placed an identical $200 million bet on one of Buzzfeed’s rivals, Vox Media.
