Mortgage app aims to inform home buyers

A new interactive iPhone app has just been launched, aimed at prospective home buyers seeking information on mortgage rates, deposit requirements and borrowing costs.

The app, called IrishMortgages, follows on from a similar app in Britain, which has had about 100,000 downloads since its launch two years ago.

The British version of the app was launched by Mortgage Brain, which was set up in 1986 and is jointly owned by six of Britain’s mortgage lenders: Barclays...
