More than 2,300 mortgages approved on average in April
New figures show the average value of an approval rose to a record high of €192,000
The latest mortgage approval figures from the Banking & Payments Federation Ireland (BPFI) found the value of mortgages approved rose by 19.7 per cent on the month but was up by more modest 0.2 per cent on the year.
The latest figures showed that of the mortgages approved during the period, 56 per cent were for first-time buyers while mover purchasers accounted for 27 per cent. The average value of an approval rose to €192,000 from €187,663...
