In his snap reaction to the election, the well-known (and centre-left-leaning) economist Paul Krugman said “the economic ramifications [of a Trump victory] are way down my list of things to fear”. I understand his sentiment, but actually think the economic ramifications of a Trump victory should sit at the forefront of everyone’s minds. I swear I’m not just saying so because I’m an economist.
