Bank of Ireland’s combative chief executive, Richie Boucher, was in flying form in an interview with our colleagues at Bloomberg last week.

Boucher admitted that he took a deliberate decision to become the “lightning rod” for public criticism as the bank got on with the task of repairing itself behind the scenes.
