Kildare arts centre got €1m despite missing filings

An arts centre in Newbridge, Co Kildare, was given a €1 million grant from the Department of Arts despite having made none of its required filings to the Charities Regulator.

In February, Minister for Arts Heather Humphreys announced that the Riverbank Arts Centre – which has been registered as a charity since 2009 – had received the joint-highest funding from the department’s national arts and culture capital scheme.
