Irish wholesale gas prices drop to six-year low
Gas prices in April are 45% below the levels seen a year ago
It also showed that wholesale electricity prices in Ireland are down by 35 per cent year-on-year with nearly a quarter of total electricity demand now being met by wind energy.
The drop in prices is a result of increased supplies from Russia and Norway combined with strong imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Middle East, Gillian Lawler, senior energy analyst at Vayu said.
