Back in November, David Nucifora was something of a man maligned.

Nucifora is the IRFU’s performance director and the man in charge of all player transfers. He had – we all reported at the time – blocked Australian hooker Stephen Moore’s move to Munster last month.

Not true, said Nucifora, who does not give media interviews (he spoke only in a video chat with his own employer, posted on their website)....
