Ireland adds to impressive medal haul at Special Olympics

A gold medal win for the Irish women’s basketball team at the Special Olympics is the cherry on top of what has been a tremendous showing by the 91 Irish athletes currently competing for glory in Abu Dhabi

Since the spectacular opening ceremony last Wednesday which marked the arrival of over 7,500 athletes from over 190 countries, Irish competitors have been taking home medals in a wide variety of events.
